North Carolina Spa Introduces Ancient Thai Massage Techniques

High Hampton Spa introduces a new organic skincare line and treatments from the mountains of Chiang Mai, the healing center of Thailand, to High Hampton Inn & Country Club. All therapies are administered in surroundings that speak of the sanctity of nature. Towering hemlocks and white pines, mountain laurel and the panorama of the Blue Ridge Mountains offer a tranquil setting that encourages rejuvenation and peace.
Following a sabbatical spent studying massage and healing at the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Spa Director Theresa Branham was inspired to add several exclusive treatments to the pampering menu at High Hampton Spa including Ashiatsu and Jin Shin Jyutsu.
Ashiatsu is a rare and ancient form of massage that combines deep compression techniques and long, luxurious massage strokes applied to the body by the therapist's feet. Ashiatsu originates in Kerala, India where its ancient ayurvedic roots are called Chavutti Thirumal. The deep, flowing strokes done with the feet soothe the muscles, open energy patterns, release toxins, enhance postural alignment and circulation. [Insert Ashiatsu Massage picture]
The Japanese art of Jin Shin Jyutsu works with twenty-six safety energy locks, specific pressure points along a network of energetic pathways that nourish life within the body. Practiced by placing hands and fingertips onto the safety energy locks in specific combination, Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance, releases deep tension and restores harmonious flow along the energetic pathways restoring balance.
Along with its exotic new massage techniques, the Spa has introduced new organic skincare treatments from Eminence, an all-natural, hand-made organic skincare line produced in Hungary. The ingredients include the highest possible levels of all-natural organically grown herbs, fruits and vegetables, and contain pure water drawn from Lake Hajduszoboszlo, a thermal hot spring containing minerals and trace elements found nowhere else on earth.
