Indomitable
Positivity
by Chinook
Each Sunday, Tsada Yoga offers
Yoga Underground in different locations throughout Dallas.
I think some people have been
apprehensive to come out to the Katy Trail yogaundergrounds and that’s
understandable considering the heat in Dallas in August. But last Sunday we
had the biggest turn-out yet. The platform was packed and the energy
was high! Trail walkers, runners, roller-bladers and cyclists were
magnetized by our group.
I walk the trail often and
purposely I walk it at the hottest times of the day. And I even do my yoga
practice there in the hottest times of the day. I’m just your average,
abnormal, weird counterculture nonconformist type of guy. I even picked my
spiritual name (Chinook) after 4 years of research because it means one who
swims against the stream.
Who Walks in the middle of the Day?
But I notice that there are a lot
of other weirdos out there on the trail like me. I’m always surprised by
how many people are walking in the extreme heat of midday. I wonder what
types of minds they have. What makes these women and men so different
from the norm? They all look normal to me – haven’t seen a green or purple
one yet - but apparently they’re not!
Creating a Vortex or Spiritual Portal
Here’s the thing – the YU Katy
Trail sessions are gaining attendance for one sole reason. The people who
have come have such a great experience that they tell their friends and
they’re bringing their friends. Sometimes you have to experience a
thing to change your concept of it. Your preconceived notions block you
from a new reality. When you get like-minded people with like goals
and temperaments you create an alternate dimension – some type of vortex or
spiritual portal. This may sound weird but once you’ve experienced it, you
know that the power of the positive mind is indomitable! People rant and
rave now after class – how perfect this spot is on the trail….. but before
they came, they thought the heat would be unbearable. So many positive
minds coming together neutralizes whatever negative minds existed
beforehand.
Neither Rain, nor snow, snow sleet will stop Yoga
Underground
We’ve been doing the YU year-round
for approximately 7 years – rain, sleet or snow! One of the first classes
we had it literally started pouring down rain and
nobody left. We were
laughing as we were getting drenched in our warrior 2 poses. The storm
eventually became so turbulent that the winds started blowing our mats all
around and we saw flashes of lightening and we eventually stopped only
because of safety concerns. The point I’m making here – we create our own
atmosphere by changing our thoughts and attitudes. We create a yogic force
field that truly makes the temperature seem 15 degrees lower than what it
is.
This Sunday we’ll be flowing again
in the same spot and if you want to experience that alternate reality – just
come and give it a try for a few minutes. You’ll be surprised by what
happens. You’ll be amazed at the ultimate power of INDOMITABLE
POSITIVITY!
